Spicy Potato wedges

By Food E Fare

Spicy potato wedges are a delicious and flavorful side dish made from potato wedges that are seasoned with a mixture of spices and then baked or fried until crispy. The spicy seasoning gives the potatoes a kick of heat and adds extra flavor. Here's a basic recipe for making spicy potato wedges:

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, washed and cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for desired spiciness)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) if you're baking the wedges. If you prefer, you can also fry them in a pan with oil.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, making sure they are evenly coated.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the potato wedges and toss until the wedges are well coated with the seasoning.
  5. Arrange the seasoned potato wedges in a single layer on a baking sheet if baking or in a pan if frying.
  6. If baking, bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, turning the wedges halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  7. If frying, heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the wedges in batches until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve the spicy potato wedges hot, optionally with your favorite dipping sauce such as ketchup, mayonnaise, or a spicy aioli.
